Email Lists

CLMP sponsors three email lists (or "listservs") for literary publishers to communicate with each other. litmagslji, an offshoot of the Literary Journal Institute, is for member literary magazines. indie-press is for independent book publishers and those starting a press, and is not limited to CLMP members although the focus is on literary publishers. Discussion ranges the gamut from such prosaic topics as "what do I do if I forgot to print an ISBN barcode on my book?" to complicated discussions of distribution options or the fine points of composing an author contract. Publishers also use the lists to discuss potential joint ventures.

Circtalk is expressly for users of CLMP's circulation database template and provides a forum for questions and troubleshooting.

Website

In its first phase, CLMP's website serves as a way for the organization to more efficiently disseminate the technical assistance resources it has developed and collected for the past four decades. Please visit our Publisher Resources section to see if we can help you.

In the future, we hope to build the site into one that will help our member publishers to publicize their work to a larger audience. Future plans include a press release broadcasting service, electronic event announcements, and regular features of member news, new publications, and reviews. Special sections for the media will make www.clmp.org the source for information and experts on independent literary publishing.
