CLMP has been providing direct service to literary publishers
since 1967. We are the only national service organization that is solely
dedicated to supporting and actively promoting the field of independent
literary publishing.
The benefits of CLMP membership speak for themselves:
- Telephone and in-person consultations with CLMP staff, including assistance with funding strategies, marketing and distribution issues, and financial matters.
- Free and discounted titles in our acclaimed Monograph series, covering a variety of publishing topics.
- Password protected access to the Media Database, Funders Database, Literary Journal Institute Toolkit, and other members-only sections of the website.
- Waived or reduced fees on workshops, including our annual Literary Publishers Conference at AWP.

- Invitations to regular networking sessions, both to meet and exchange ideas with other mission-driven literary publishers and to forge relationships with the commercial publishing community.
- Access to CLMP's online forums and email listservs: Indie-Presses, LitMagsLJI, e-Pubs, and Lit-Events.
- Information from the CLMP Resource Center, such as short-run printers, nonprofit status, and review media.
- Notification of the NYTAP Literary Publishers' Travel Fund and consulting awards available through CLMP.
- Representation at national conferences and trade shows and participation in CLMP-sponsored small press/lit mag fairs across the country.
- Access to the Literary Network, a grassroots political advocacy campaign.
