Join CLMP on April 17 at 4 p.m. ET to learn about principles and best practices for book design. Speakers will discuss their approach, general principles, and tips, as well as answer questions from the audience. The session will be especially useful for publishers and staff without a design background looking to handle design processes in-house.
Our speakers will include:
Dede Cummings, book designer, poet/author, and the publisher of Green Writers Press. Dede is an award-winning book designer who worked closely with Mary Oliver on six of her books, and designed books by authors such as Ursula Le Guin, Thomas Pynchon, Norman Mailer, Helen Nearing, and Peter Mathieson, among others.
Lantz Arroyo, co-owner and publisher at Radix Printing & Publishing Cooperative, a worker-owned and operated union print shop and publisher based in Brooklyn, New York. Lantz’s background is in film, video, and still photography, and he has been working in design and printing since 2010.
The event will be recorded and archived in the CLMP Resource Library. Automated closed captioning will be available. If you have other accessibility requests, please contact Chelsea Kern at [email protected].
