her house. is a new literary journal, preparing to publish our first issue.
this first issue is a summer issue, and we want to explore the feelings that come with both firsts and summer—memories, moments, musings, etc.
it’s a broad and simple topic, but we hope it gives you room to create something that is you—in 20 to 2000 words (or 1-2 images/illustrations).
fiction, nonfiction, poetry, photography, illustrations, recipes, and more are welcome.
when you submit, we’ll review, decide if it fits in the issue, and let you know. if it doesn’t fit, we hope it’s something you’re proud enough of to submit elsewhere.
please do not submit previously published works, work that you love but is irreflective of the theme, or work submitted elsewhere.
tip: we plan to publish to a broad audience, so the less explicit and/or dark your submission is, the better its chances are of moving up on the list.
