EastOver Press invites submissions of book-length nonfiction manuscripts in English by established and emerging writers. Manuscripts submitted during this reading period are considered for publication in 2026. We will accept submissions from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, with a cap of 100 manuscripts.
We are especially interested in collections of literary essays, but will consider essay-based memoirs, mixed genre works, and other hybrid works. We are interested in manuscripts that take a narrative approach to nonfiction.
We are highly unlikely to select manuscripts that are primarily journalism, political analysis, history, erotica, science fiction, fantasy, or comics. We are not looking for nonfiction books for children/young adults nor are we looking for textbooks or anthologies of previously published work. Manuscripts that clearly fit into one of these categories will be declined without extensive review.
Although we do not seek previously published manuscripts, we expect that most submissions may have essays that were previously published. Manuscripts may be under consideration by other publishers, but if a manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere, please notify us immediately. Manuscripts under contract elsewhere are ineligible for consideration.
Manuscript Guidelines
1. Manuscripts must be submitted as a MS Word file, double-spaced with numbered pages, set in a standard 12-point font (such as Times New Roman) with a 1 inch page margin.
2. The author’s name, mailing address and email should appear on the first page of the manuscript.
3. Manuscripts must include a table of contents with page numbers and an acknowledgments page for previous publications of individual sections.
