Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Keep it brief - let me know what your project takes inspiration from. I also like to read a brief author bio - what have you published, in what ways do you engage with the writing world, where are you from...
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
I look for strong, evocative, unique use of language. I look for an authentic voice and a subject that compels me to keep reading.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Be brave. Submit what you hope to publish, not what you think other people want to publish. Take rejection as part of the vocation - have faith and keep writing. And please - follow all submission guidelines.
Do You Have A Favorite Unsolicited Submission Discovery Or Anecdote?
Every time a submission just grabs me and won't let go, I feel like to be able to participate in that story.
Who Is Your Ideal Reader?
My ideal reader is also a writer - a person who questions everything, but also believes that there is a sacred mystery that resonates through us all.
