Grrrl is a new literary magazine that strives to uplift and spotlight female writers and artists in a time that aims to silence them. We take great inspiration from zine culture, the Riot Grrrl scene, and Kathleen Hanna's lifework. In the same way Hanna brought "girls to the front" with her music, Grrrl strives to be a magazine that brings female and gender-queer authors "to the front." We strive to create a space that both defies boundaries and barriers while being unwavering in the face of them. We want this magazine to feel like stepping into a sleepover with your close girlfriends--a place where girls can say and do anything they want judgment-free.
