Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Hakkyu is derived from the Japanese word "to spread." Our small team of editors is focused on spreading the word of the young and new. The goal is to empower raw voices diverse backgrounds with no hidden perquisite of past experience. Only the writing will be considered; hence, we only require an author biography once the publication is confirmed—no cover letters as well (we think they're superficial). Editors are based in Japan and the United States through an voluntary effort, we hope to expand our reach as we grow.
