Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Philly Poetry Chapbook Review (PCR) is a niche review of books and a journal of poetics and poetry. We only publish reviews or interviews featuring recently published poetry chapbooks. However, we feature monthly poems excerpted from both a chapbook and a full-length poetry book, as well as weekly posts highlighting full-length books and monthly posts featuring new chapbooks. As of 2025, we also publish new original work from a poet every other Thursday.

How Frequently Is Content Updated?

Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Optional, but can't hurt.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
We look for meaningful and polished poetry with something to say. For critical submissions, we look for clear understanding of poetic interpretation and work that is good enough to be considered ready after one revision.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Make sure you've revised whatever you submit to say it in the best way possible. Poetry that is too wordy or plain and reviews with typos or lack of support from quoted text are very noticeable to the editor.
Who Is Your Ideal Reader?
Someone who enjoys variety in avant-garde poetry.
