Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Windmill: The Hofstra Journal of Art & Literature was founded in 2016. Published annually, the literary magazine is edited and designed by the Hofstra English Department’s Publishing Studies capstone students. Windmill publishes fiction, creative nonfiction, art, and literary conversations. We feature emerging writers alongside established and strive to publish the voices of the traditionally unheard and underrepresented. Windmill is in search of compelling narrative engaged in language, place, creativity, and meaning. We especially welcome dynamic stories of injustice, inequality, and unrest told in a compelling, compassionate, and conscientious manner.
